Metaldyne has announced it will supply powder metal forged connecting rods for the Chrysler Group’s new 5.7 litre HEMI Magnum V-8 engine that launches later this year.

Metaldyne says the new supply agreement represents a growing trend by carmakers, who are replacing traditional metal-formed connecting rods with powder-metal rods to add strength, reduce weight and eliminate manufacturing steps.
