Infiniti, the luxury division of Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA), continues to perform at its all time record levels. It today reported total September sales of 7,800 units, an increase of 3.0 percent over the previous year and better than any September in Infiniti’s history. This sales number rivals its all time record of 7,801 units set in December of 1999.
“While the current industry trend is a heavier reliance on incentives, we’re lightening our incentive load this year and improving sales at the same time,” said Jed Connelly, senior vice president, sales and marketing of Nissan North America, Inc.
The QX4 luxury sport utility vehicle had its best September ever, with total sales again surpassing the 2,000-unit mark (2,054) for the month. This represents an increase of 30 percent versus the last year. QX4 calendar year-to-date sales totaled 17,130, up 27.7 percent versus the previous calendar year.
As the volume sales leader, the Infiniti I30 reported a 10 percent increase over the same period last year, with sales of 4,321 units, a record September for the I30.
September sales of the Q45, Infiniti’s flagship luxury sedan reached 272 units. The G20, Infiniti’s luxury sports sedan, posted sales of 1,153 units.
“Infiniti continues to set records month after month and is on track for a record year of sales” stated Tom Orbe, vice president and general manager for Infiniti division. “We’ve sold over 63,000 vehicles so far this calendar year, that’s up 20.7 percent versus the same period last year.”
