Sirius Satellite Radio and Hertz reportedly said on Thursday that the car rental company will expand the availability of Sirius radios in its high-end vehicles.
CBS Marketwatch said that models in the Hertz fleet that will be equipped this month with Sirius radios include Ford’s Lincoln LS sedan and Navigator SUV.
Later this year, the Sirius service will be included in Jaguar, Range Rover and Volvo vehicles, the report added.
CBS Marketwatch said the Sirius service, launched in July 2002, offers 100 channels of digital-quality programming covering every major music format, as well as news, sports and talk, for $US12.95 per month – its 60 music channels, devoted to pop, rock, jazz, country and other genres, are commercial-free.
On Wednesday, Sirius reportedly said it had passed the 500,000 subscriber mark.
