The Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Co. on Tuesday said it was selling its 95% stake in a rubber plantation in North Sumatra, Indonesia, to Japan’s top tyre maker, Bridgestone Corp., according to Reuters.
The report added that Goodyear, the largest US tyre maker, did not disclose details of the pending sale of the Goodyear Sumatra Plantations which employ 5,000 people but said the sale was part of its announced strategy to focus on core business activities.
