General Motors has announced a voluntary recall of 280,000 Cadillac DeVilles from model years 2000-2002 due to a potential problem with seat belts. During internal testing, GM discovered that seat belt pretensioners, which reduce a person's forward movement in a crash, that did not perform properly in the front seats of some cars.

There have been no reports of crashes or injuries related to the condition. DeVilles built between May 1999 and May 2002 are affected.
