Former BMW, Aston Martin and Ford designer Henrik Fisker and parterner Bernhard Koehler have launched Southern California-based Fisker Coachbuild to design and manufacture exclusive high-end sports cars.

The cars will be limited to 150 units per design and sold under the Fisker brand name.


The first public unveiling of the new designs will be scheduled towards the end of 2005. Prospective customers will be invited to various events to gauge interest with production to commence during the second quarter 2006.


Fisker was most recently director of Ford’s Global Advanced Design Studio in Irvine, California and was also director of design for Aston Martin.


The Danish designer was previously president and chief executive officer of BMW subsidiary Designworks/USA and a designer at BMW in Munich.
