Ford has responded to new GM 0% financing deals for US customers by “enhancing” its third quarter “We Will Rock You” incentive programme with 0% financing on most remaining 2002 Ford brand cars, trucks and SUVs.

The move came just two days after the company announced new finance rates down to 2.9% for Q3.

“One thing that’s certain is that Ford will be competitive,” said Ford Division president Steve Lyons. “As the competitive landscape changes, we will answer.”

The 0% financing is available on all Ford brand models except Thunderbird, Escape and SVT models until 3 September.

An option that combines customer cash and a reduced financing rate also is available on most models.
