Interior
trim and electronics systems maker Lear Corporation today said that the recently
announced 60,000-unit Ford Explorer and Ranger production cuts are expected to
reduce its 2001 earnings per share by approximately $US0.13.

To date, Ford has scheduled approximately 32,000 units of Explorer and Ranger
production cuts in Lear’s second quarter.

Lear announced anticipated second-quarter earnings per share of $0.75-$0.85
when it released results for Q1 2001.
