Delphi Automotive Systems (NYSE: DPH – news), a world leader in mobile electronics and transportation components and systems technology, is partnering with Click Commerce, Inc. (Nasdaq: CKCM – news) to launch a global Internet catalog system for its aftermarket division, Delphi Aftermarket Operations.

The new Web-enabled system will allow Delphi and distribution partners to globally access product information in multiple languages to meet the needs of the individual user, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Internet catalog architecture allows Delphi to create a customized user interface and is expected to go online in 2001 as part of a new Delphi customer extranet.

“Delphi’s Internet catalog is part of an integrated e-commerce application,” said Susan K. Lawrence, chief information officer, Delphi Aftermarket Operations. “This plug-and-play Internet catalog module will serve as the foundation for Delphi’s future integrated business-to-business e-commerce solutions. Delphi will be a recognized leader in using business- to-business e-commerce to support our customers.”

The electronic catalog and document management modules are part of Click Commerce’s recently enhanced product suite, Click Commerce 4.0. This new product suite features a layered architecture consisting of the Relationship Manager ECM platform and a suite of more than 80 application modules that offer a robust way for companies to provide highly personalized information for every individual in their partner channels.

Developing a business-to-business electronic catalog solution is part of Delphi’s strategy to develop on-line services utilizing the Internet to provide greater value for its customers. A global catalog system will create a Web-based standard that serves Delphi’s aftermarket catalog needs and will be a foundation for future e-business initiatives. The system adheres to industry standards such as the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) vehicle and parts identification tables.

“Delphi recognizes the importance of e-business strategies,” said Michael W. Ferro, Jr., Click Commerce chief executive officer. “With the first phase of this project, Delphi is building the foundation for enhanced e-business functionality for its aftermarket distribution partners in the future. Click Commerce is excited to work with Delphi to create one of the first e-commerce initiatives in the automotive aftermarket industry.”
