Visionary Vehicles, which plans to import Chery vehicles from China into North America, has appointed Mitsubishi America’s vehicle development head Dennis Gore as chief engineer and executive vice president of research and development.
Gore has nearly three decades engineering and senior management experience in the auto industry and a track record of bringing Asian-made vehicles to the North American market.
“Dennis Gore is a perfect fit,” said Visionary Vehicles CEO Malcolm Bricklin. “We want to revolutionize the American car-buying experience by offering high-quality, stylish cars at 30% below the current market price. Dennis will be a key player in achieving this goal. He has his finger on the pulse of the North American auto market, and knows exactly how to engineer cars that meet the high expectations of customers.”
A company statement said Gore was also being wooed by Hyundai when he met Malcolm Bricklin in early January.
Gore said: “Visionary Vehicles and Chery Automobile Company will change the landscape of the North American auto market. I wasn’t sure it could be done but after touring the Chery factory and meeting management I realised our auspicious goals are well within reach.”
