Decision Guide Ranks as Most Useful Along with Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds.com

Used-car web site AutoTrader.com is being recognized on newsstands today among Yahoo! Internet Life’s “50 Most Incredibly Useful Sites” for its “Decision Guide” feature, an easy-to-use tool for auto shopping online (www.autotrader.com/decision). AutoTrader.com’s Decision Guide is featured in the July 2000 cover story as one of three web sites in the automotive category.

AutoTrader.com was also recognized in Yahoo! Internet Life magazine as one of the “100 Best Sites for 2000” in January and as the “Best Used-Car Hub” and “Gold Star Site” in November 1999.

“Earning this award from Yahoo! Internet Life highlights the value that our Decision Guide provides consumers when making their car purchase,” said Chip Perry, president and CEO, AutoTrader.com. “For consumers who aren’t sure what they are looking for or certain of what kind of car they need, the Decision Guide provides a turn-key solution to help them narrow down their selection. It provides consumers with useful, comparative information at the click of a mouse.”

The AutoTrader.com Decision Guide allows users to compare and contrast the used cars they are considering for purchase. Users can differentiate among multiple cars at once on a single screen by viewing each car’s features side by side, detailing traits such as gas mileage, safety features and performance indicators. Customers can also click on “What car is right for you?” and answer a series of questions about specific features they are looking for in a car. The Decision Guide will then recommend makes and models that match customers’ needs.

The Decision Guide has helped many consumers make tough decisions when buying a car online. Bill Spangler, a retiree from Walton, Kansas agrees. “AutoTrader.com works. It’s that simple,” said Spangler, who recently used www.autotrader.com to find a 1993 Chevrolet GMC conversion van. “With the Decision Guide, we were able to compare prices, gas mileage and technical specifications.”
