Interwoven to Facilitate Rapid Localization While Helping to Ensure
Global Brand Control Across All Web Sites
Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced that Autobytel.com Inc. (Nasdaq:ABTL), the global leader in automotive eCommerce, will use Interwoven TeamSite to manage content for its domestic and international Web sites. Autobytel.com, the leading online marketplace for automotive purchases, sales and ownership, has nearly 7 million registered customers in the US. The company plans to facilitate its global expansion by using TeamSite to help localize Web sites for each market while maintaining the company’s branding across all Autobytel.com licensed Web sites.
Autobytel.com has established, directly or through licensing, online links for car dealers and buyers in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden and Japan. Interwoven TeamSite software will help the company to quickly extend its reach into other countries by automating localization processes such as language translation and adherence to each government’s legal restrictions on automotive sales and purchases. Enabling this localization is the TeamSite workflow engine, which provides an advanced task-based environment for controlling complex, multi-stage Web site development. By freeing Web site contributors to focus on their content, Autobytel.com can speed implementation for both current and new licensed Web sites around the world.
“The recognized leadership of Autobytel.com gives us a strategic advantage in capturing market share in any new country we enter. The challenge is executing as quickly as opportunity allows — particularly as legal guidelines differ from one country to the next,” said David Grant, chief technology officer at Autobytel.com. “TeamSite addresses this challenge with superior workflow technology and templating for automating local legal compliance while protecting our branding. Interwoven will be an excellent partner as we accelerate our reach into new markets around the globe.”
“Autobytel.com has established international leadership based on its ability to get to market first and by providing its customers with superior service,” said Joe Ruck, vice president of corporate and channels marketing at Interwoven, Inc. “TeamSite will enable Autobytel.com to rapidly scale its content management worldwide — delivering accurate, consistent content tailored for every country.”
TeamSite will also assist Autobytel.com’s Web management and development division, DealerSites, develop and maintain customized Web sites for dealers in the UK and Canada, and then Europe. DealerSites currently hosts customizable Web sites for over 1,000 dealer franchises.
