Autoliv Inc. confirmed today that they have signed a letter of intent to partner with Covisint, the planned internet communication exchange being solidified between DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Renault and Nissan, pending all governmental and legal approvals of the new venture. Autoliv, the safety technology innovator and largest provider of occupant protection systems was one of the initial companies requested to join the exchange.

“We are aggressively developing our global, internal and external, E-communication systems” said Lars Westerberg, Autoliv’s Chief Executive Officer. “Covisint shares our view that the internet communication medium has limitless applications in improving information flow. This common, broad, implementation philosophy was a key factor in our decision to join the exchange.”
