Audi will expand today’s range of models from some 20 distinct vehicles to 30 or 40 by the end of the decade, according to a report by The Car Connection (TCC) website, citing Audi of America’s new brand leader Axel Mees.
The new vehicles will include the Q7, the production version of the Pikes Peak quattro sport-ute that’s been shown on the motor show circuit in the past two years, the report said.
Mees reportedly suggested that production versions of the Nuvolari coupe and Le Mans quattro supercar, also exhibited recently at motor shows are, “considered to be a part of our coming product range,” though no dates were suggested for production.
TCC said one new vehicle was officially announced at the national press launch of the A6 sedan: the A6 Avant [wagon], which will arrive in the US in autumn 2005 with the automaker’s 3.2-litre direct-injection V6.
