Visteon says it has been awarded the first production programme for its OpenAir I1.1 infotainment product by an Asia-based vehicle manufacturer.
The vehicle line is expected to launch in the second half of 2015, targeted at South East Asia, South Africa, South America, Middle East and East European markets.
Visteon’s OpenAir I1.1 entry-level infotainment product features a 7-inch touch display, audio, navigation and multi-device connectivity to deliver apps, features and media streaming.
Internet access enables download of cloud-based and local content as well as over-the-air system updates.
“Consumer expectations for seamless connectivity have fuelled the rapid growth of infotainment and have enabled Visteon’s expansion with vehicle manufacturers in the Asian growth markets,” said Visteon Electronics global director, sales and strategy, Albert Faraj.
Visteon’s OpenAir brand of connected audio and infotainment products premiered at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas.
