Visteon Corporation has blended the world’s most popular video game system, Game Boy Advance, with its latest dockable family entertainment system.
The new system combines a portable in-vehicle entertainment system with a gaming platform that has sold nearly 300 million games worldwide since its introduction in 2001.
Visteon said the new model has factory-style fit and appearance, OE-grade performance and the ability to quickly and easily undock the portable media player for use in virtually any location.
The system includes a low-profile docking platform installed within the vehicle’s headliner and integrates with existing audio equipment. The light (2.5 pound flip-down media player – with large, 10.2-inch screen – can be undocked in seconds for use at home, on a plane, on vacation, outdoors, or in another vehicle.
The system allows enables users to play over 750 Game Boy Advance titles or watch any DVD-based video. It comes with a ‘unique’ wireless game controller that minimises clutter within the vehicle. The system also allows users to compete with one another by plugging in a a handheld Game Boy Advance unit. The unit also features a top-load gaming slot.
