Toyota in the US has said that is adding 65,000 vehicles this summer to its planned production schedule.
The company will increase output of its Camry and Corolla sedans, Tundra and Tacoma trucks, the Sienna mini-van, and the Rav4 crossover.
Group Vice President Bob Carter said in a conference call that the production increase reflected an inventory adjustment and a brighter market outlook.
“We are starting to see a little more optimism in the market and we’re starting to add some incremental production to our plan now that we have met our goal to right-size our inventories,” Carter said.
The company last month said it would boost production of the Camry and Rav4 after inventory levels fell enough to spark a rise in dealer orders.
