Another US Toyota executive has decamped to a rival. This time it’s Mark Del Rosso who the post of general manager of the automaker’s Portland, Oregon region to become chief operating officer of Audi of America.
The position has been vacant since the departure of Tom Del Franco in June 2007 – Del Rosso reports to Audi executive vice president, Johan de Nysschen.
Del Rosso joined Toyota in 1991 and held various marketing and field positions in both the Toyota and Lexus divisions.
At Audi he’ll direct sales operations, vehicle distribution, market strategy and planning, corporate sales, and factory-certified used car operations.
He will start at Auburn Hills, Michigan, but Audi shifts its headquarters to Herndon, Virginia, later this year.
