General Motors’ top sales analyst Paul Ballew is leaving the company to head one of the largest US insurance companies.

The Detroit News noted that Ballew is among the automaker’s most public leaders, thanks to a job that includes monthly sales calls with Wall Street analysts and automotive media.

With GM since 1999, he is expected to leave next month for the post at Nationwide Financial Services, a Columbus, Ohio-based insurance and financial services company, the paper said, noting that Ballew was a senior director at JD Power and Associates from 1995 before joining GM.
