A company called Global Holdings International said in a statement on Friday that its full line of Chinese-manufactured vehicles, which include sedans, minis, sports coupes, SUVs, mini-vans, trucks, light trucks, buses, and heavy equipment “are of the highest quality and are already on their way to America”.

Global claimed it would be luring the public with “incredibly low prices, most priced at 30-50% less than comparable vehicles sold in the US today”. Unlike other foreign vehicles which have entered the American market, these cars will all have extended warranties, the statement said.

The first vehicles are scheduled to reach the US market in 2007. Some are already being sold in other countries, and sales in both Europe and Mexico will begin early this year. The company claimed that over 1,000,000 commercial and heavy equipment vehicles have already been sold worldwide with sales in Mexico alone, where there will also be an assembly plant, estimated at 100,000 in 2006.

The statement said Global’s product line includes vehicles from Brilliance, Foton Auto and Boading Tianma Auto (plus a full line of Foton heavy equipment).

The Brilliance M1 sedan is scheduled to begin a tour of the United States in San Francisco, California in June 2006. The first showroom will be completed in early 2006 in Guadalajara, Mexico, with the Las Vegas showroom to follow in the later part of the year.

Unlike other low-cost vehicles introduced into the U.S., Global’s vehicle line is of premium quality, the statement claimed.

“We are entering the market with premium quality products and superior design, all backed by a warranty,” said Jeff Suh, CEO of Global Holdings International.

The statement added that distributorships have been sold for certain areas of the US and some countries. Individual dealerships in the US are projected to sell 1,000 vehicles each.
