Supplier Vuteq USA will locate a $US31m manufacturing plant in northern Mississippi to produce window components for the Toyota plant under construction there.
State governor Haley Barbour told the Associated Press that the supplier plant was expected to open in 2009, employing 130 people.
Toyota will build its Highlander SUV (aka Kluger in some markets) at its plant near Blue Springs.
Barbour reportedly said the state’s contribution for Vuteq USA totaled $1.5m for infrastructure and $3 million for training.
Vuteq USA is a solely owned subsidiary of Japan-based Vuteq Corporation with facilities in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois and California, according to the news agency.
