Subaru plans to expand its hybrid vehicle range and develop an electric car.

According to AutoGuide.com, the automaker will implement these plans after completing its current phase of development.

Subaru is currently working on increasing its sales in the US along with expanding the production capacity of its Lafayette, Indiana plant. By the end of 2016, it aims to increase plant capacity to 200,000 units per year. The US$400m capacity expansion project is expected to create 900 jobs in Indiana.

After these targets are achieved, Subaru will focus on expanding its lineup of hybrid vehicles and developing an EV.
