Compuware Corporation has announced a three-year contract between Shanghai GM and Compuware Covisint to provide messaging and integration services between the automaker and its suppliers based in Asia, North America, Europe and Latin America.


Compuware Covisint is providing technology that allows the automakers to securely share information, applications and services across their supply chain.


Initially, Covisint will be used by Shanghai GM and its suppliers to support power train and vehicle assembly operations. Compuware will also provide local technical support and training.


Shanghai General Motors was established in June 1997. The 50-50 joint venture is a partnership between GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation Group (SAIC) and makes mainly Buick-badged cars plus engines and transmissions.
