Saab says it is “loading boats” in Sweden with the new 9-5 model as it prepares for a US launch in August.

The newly Spyker-purchased automaker is readying dealers in the US for the 9-5, while also making plans for a re-entry into Canada.

“We are loading boats as we speak in Sweden with 250 units of 9-5s and another 100 will leave in a couple of days,” said Saab chairman Victor Muller.

“We should see units landing in US dealerships by early August.”

The Saab chairman also added the automaker would shortly be returning to Canada and that, by 16 August, there would be 20 dealers across the country.

“We will be up and running for sales shortly after with cars arriving from mid to late September,” he said.
