With appropriate modifications, something along these lines might enable automakers to ensure journalists testing flexfuel cars [see 18 July entry] can also refuel with ethanol: Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide on Monday said it is supplying three transportable hydrogen refuelling stations to General Motors.
The units will be used to refuel fuel cell vehicles, also equipped with Quantum’s hydrogen fuel systems, at various locations from vehicle proving grounds and public ride-and-drive events to fleet demonstrations.
“Our transportable hydrogen refuelling stations are designed to support our customers as they advance their hydrogen fuel cell vehicle initiatives and are helping to establish the foundation of a hydrogen refuelling network,” said Quantum’s president and CEO Alan Niedzwiecki.
“The high pressure storage systems developed by Quantum, which these new refuelling stations support, translate directly into a greater vehicle driving range for hydrogen fuelled vehicles, a critical factor for the commercialisation.”
“Demand continues to grow around the world,” added Niedzwiecki.
