GM selected Novelis to supply the aluminium sheet for the bonnet (hood) of its new GMC Acadia crossover.

It comes from rolling mills in Oswego, New York, and Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

“The automotive market is a key growth segment for Novelis,” said Buddy Stemple, vice president and general manager of Novelis North America’s specialty products group.

“The award of this business signifies the growing demand for light-weight solutions and further demonstrates our ability to deliver innovative products and services to the market.”

The Acadia is already on sale in the US and is built on GM’s new unibody Lambda platform.
