Nissan North America has opened its new Livermore Training Center, located about 45 miles east of San Francisco. The facility trains dealer technicians from the northwest region which covers Northern California, Colorado, Idaho, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
“With our expanding presence in the Bay Area and Northwest, the Livermore location provides a central, easy-to-access location in a key market area,” a Nissan spokesman said.
The 23,000 sq ft centre has three classrooms, component repair area, a 10,000 sq ft vehicle demonstrations area with wheel service and alignment areas, 16 service bays, and eight vehicle lifts. Training courses include heating and cooling systems, chassis integrity, on-board diagnostics and emissions. Other meetings, covering related sales and fixed operations, training will be conducted at the venue, as well.
Livermore is one of two such centres scheduled to open in the western US this year, joining another facility in Ontario, California set to open early next autumn. Nine other centres support 1,300 Nissan and Infiniti retail outlets and 9,000 technicians nationwide.
