Lexus will stage the world debut of the fully redesigned LX 570 luxury sport utility vehicle at a press conference on 4 April during the 2007 New York International Auto Show.
“The third-generation LX 570 will reach new heights in performance via a powerful new V8 engine while achieving elevated levels of comfort, style and safety,” Toyota’s luxury vehicle division said in a statement.
This model is sold primarily in North America. US consumer website Edmunds.com says it appeared first in 1996 as the LX 450, “a lightly redecorated version of the then-current Toyota Land Cruiser”.
After a new generation Land Cruiser appeared two years later, the new second-generation LX 470 appeared alongside it and has been regularly updated since then, the website says.
