General Motors is to build its new petrol-electric hybrid Vue sport utility at the Saturn plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, according to a report.

The news follows the announcement in November that GM would cease production at Plant/Line No 1 at the Spring Hill facility under a restructuring plan the company has put in place to cut costs.

The Associated Press reported that the hybrid vehicle would be made from the beginning of this summer.

Citing GM spokesman Randy Fox, the report said production numbers for the new Vue variant, called ‘Green Line’, haven’t yet been announced.

The Vue Green line was one of two new hybrid models GM introduced at the Detroit motor show this week.
