Shareholders of digital map maker Navteq Corporation have approved the previously announced merger agreement with mobile phone maker Nokia.

The vote was over 75% in favour of the merger. Navteq shareholder approval was one of the conditions of the merger agreement.

Once all regulatory and closing conditions are met, North Acquisition, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nokia Inc., itself a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nokia Corporation, will be merged with and into Navteq, and Navteq will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nokia Inc.
