Magna International‘s Louisville Seating Systems factory has achieved the production milestone of 1m sets of automobile seats. It started in April 2012 making seat sets for the Ford Escape, and has since expanded its customer base.

The 140,000 sq ft operation with 450 employees performs complete seat assembly plus just in time sequencing and delivery. It now also produces complete seats for Ford’s Lincoln MKC and also supplies foam seat pads to Magna’s Spring Hill, Tennessee, factory.

Louisville uses a variety of advanced manufacturing processes and materials, including flexible colour capabilities and recyclable bio poly foam.
