General Motors plans to stop using its four Detroit-based corporate jets.


An unsourced Dow Jones Newswires report said the automaker would cease operations at GM Air Transportation Services At Detroit Metro Airport.


Earlier today, Ford said in its submission to the US Senate Banking Committee that it would sell its five corporate jets.


The Detroit Big Three CEOs were criticised during a congressional hearing last month for using three separate private jets to travel to Washington to plead their cases for a government bail-out.
