General Motors (GM) is recalling 40,859 units of the Chevrolet Cobalt and its Pontiac G5 variants from the 2007 to 2009 model years as well as the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion.

The affected vehicles have plastic parts in the fuel pump which could crack, resulting in a leak that could lead to a fire, the Detroit Free Press said. There have been no reports of fires or injuries yet.
