General Motors is readying a new line of stylish interiors for its North American-made models, if this preview picture of the redesigned 2008 Chevrolet Malibu cockpit is any guide.
The automaker this week confirmed the new Malibu would make its public debut at the Detroit motor show in January.
GM said the new interior for the 2008 car features a ‘dual cockpit’ design. It is not clear if the two-tone colours shown in the photo will make production – current Malibus have monotone cabins in grey, black or tan.
The 2008 Malibu will follow a model redesigned for the 2004 model year (putting it on a new four-year replacement cycle in line with Japanese rivals such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry; the prior generation was built from 1997 to 2003 and carried over to 2004 for fleets only).
