The automaker this week confirmed the new Malibu would make its public debut at the Detroit motor show in January.
GM said the new interior for the 2008 car features a ‘dual cockpit’ design. It is not clear if the two-tone colours shown in the photo will make production – current Malibus have monotone cabins in grey, black or tan.
The 2008 Malibu will follow a model redesigned for the 2004 model year (putting it on a new four-year replacement cycle in line with Japanese rivals such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry; the prior generation was built from 1997 to 2003 and carried over to 2004 for fleets only).
