Volkswagen is recalling 362,000 cars in the US because of a problem with a brake light switch.
According the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website, the switch may malfunction if it was installed incorrectly during previous safety recalls. As a result the brake lights could become inoperative or remain on.
The recall affects Volkswagen Jettas from the 1999-2002 model years and the New Beetle from 1998-2002 model years.
A VW spokesman in Germany told just-auto that the recall applied only to cars sold in the US.
