Fiat said it is on track to reach 100,000 sales of its 500 city car in North America, two years after its launch there.
North American chief Tim Kuniskis told Agence France Presse: “The rate of growth is pretty substantial.”
He added that Fiat plans the launch in April of the 500 electric car and in June of the larger 500L.
Kuniskis projected Fiat’s total North America sales will hit the 100,000 benchmark in April or May, after selling 26,290 cars in 2011 and 55,600 units last year.
