Two employees remain in hospital following an incident at Faurecia’s North American plant that saw nine workers injured.

Details remain sketchy, but the French parts maker is referring to the incident as a ‘hydraulic line malfunction’ that occurred at its Faurecia Interior Systems plant at Northwood, Ohio that supplies Chrysler with door systems.

“We had people treated for minor injuries, for example the noise caused buzzing ears,” a Faurecia spokesman in Paris told just-auto.

“The incident is more or less over. To my knowledge, the Chrysler plant, which had originally planned to stop production actually continued as we were able to still produce parts.”

The Chrysler plant manufacturers the Dodge Nitro and Jeep Liberty (Cherokee) models in Toledo. Faurecia said it would release further details when available.
