Ford’s new group vice president of marketing and communications, Jim Farley, will also head US marketing, sales and service for the Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brands to his duties when he joins Ford from Toyota in mid-November, the automaker said on Friday.

Farley will take over from Francisco Codina, who recently retired.

Farley will report to Fields, Ford’s executive vice president and president of The Americas, as the head of marketing, sales and service in the US and to president and CEO Alan Mulally as the company’s head of marketing and communications.

Farley most recently was group vice president and general manager of Lexus, responsible for all sales, marketing and customer satisfaction activities for Toyota’s luxury brand. He joined Toyota in 1990 in the strategic planning department and his achievements at the Japanese automaker include the successful launch of the youth-oriented Scion brand.
