DuPont and Russkie Kraski Corp. have formed a joint venture to supplying coatings to vehicle manufacturers in Russia and former Soviet republics in eastern Europe.
The new company, DuPont Russian Coatings LLC, will draw on technologies licensed from both partners.
DuPont claims to be the world’s leading manufacturer of coatings for the automotive OEM and refinish markets while Russkie Kraski claims to be the Russian Federation’s largest manufacturer of automotive coatings and resins, with sophisticated research and development, technical support and sales and marketing capabilities.
“This new joint venture will serve expanding automotive production in Russia and other eastern European countries and builds on a series of DuPont investments designed to grow our business in emerging markets,” said DuPont automotive systems chief Marty McQuade.
The joint venture, headquartered in Yaroslavl, will supply local and international car makers in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine with coatings and technical support.
