Denso Manufacturing Michigan, Alabama Plant (DMMI-AL), has opened a US$2.2m warehousing facility – part of the supplier’s expansion plan to invest nearly US$1bn in North America during a four-year period.
“Since announcing our Alabama expansion plans in October, we have worked closely with the Montgomery community to revitalise the Smothers Road building into a world-class Denso facility,” said DMMI-AL plant director, Mike Bowman.
“Montgomery has been a great partner, and we are thrilled to have hired 30 people on the way to our goal of 45 new Denso jobs here in Alabama.”
DMMI-AL is a 103,000 square-foot facility that will support the warehousing and shipping of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units and other parts for Denso’s North American customers.
The investment is part of Denso’s expansion plan to invest nearly US$1bn in North America – with more than US$750m in the US – to strengthen and expand its product development and manufacturing capabilities across the region.
