DaimlerChrysler has posted an 8.4% fall in May US auto sales to 212,882 cars and trucks from 232,386 a year earlier, reported Dow Jones.


Mercedes-Benz managed a 21% increase to 21,621 vehicles from 17,811 in the same period last year, on the back of strong demand for its GL-Class full-sized SUV, but sales fell 11% to 191,261 vehicles from 214,575 last year on the Chrysler side.
