Former Chrysler sales executive Joe Eberhardt is the new president of Jaguar Land Rover North America.
His global industry and retail experience includ sales, marketing and service roles at Chrysler, DaimlerChrysler UK, Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler-Benz.
Eberhardt will report to Andy Goss, group sales operations director, at Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover and will be responsible for JLR’s North American operations including sales, service and marketing in the United States and Canada.
To the end of November, Jaguar Land Rover sales in the US were up 21% year on year.
“Eberhardt is an outstanding executive addition to Jaguar Land Rover’s global market leadership team heading up the critical US and Canada operations at a time of tremendous growth and opportunity,” said Goss.
“[He]brings a proven industry track record, and valuable global leadership experience in luxury sales, service and marketing. We look forward to Joe leading our North American team in working with our retail networks to further grow the business and better serve our customers.”

By GlobalDataUS industry publication Automotive News described Eberhardt as “the sales executive who left Chrysler seven years ago amid a storm of dealer anger surrounding overproduction”.
Eberhardt resigned from Chrysler in December 2006 – when it was still owned by Daimler – after becoming a flashpoint for dealer anger over unassigned cars the factory was making without orders from dealers. Vehicles piled up on dealership lots, even though dealers said they repeatedly warned about overproduction.
