Chrysler on Tuesday named Andreas Schell to the new post of director – recovery and transformation plan and business strategy.


He will report to both chairman and CEO Bob Nardelli and vice chairman and president Tom LaSorda.


Chrysler said the new post “represents the restructuring of several strategic functions under a single point of responsibility. The consolidated positions include: recovery and transformation plan (RTP), business strategy, material cost management and executive planner, plus office of the chairman.


Schell joined Chrysler in 2002 and most recently was senior manager – office of the chairman. He joined what was then Daimler-Benz in 1996.
