Chrysler Group has built its first vehicles since the automaker filed for bankruptcy on 30 April.

The Conner Avenue plant in Detroit started operations on Monday morning, Chrysler spokesman Max Gates told Dow Jones. The plant so far is the only factory to return to production.

About 115 people build the Dodge Viper sportscar. Chrysler plans to either sell the brand or stop producing the model by the end of the year.

Additional assembly plants could return to production within the week, the report added, though Chrysler still plans a 13-20 July traditional summer shutdown for all factories.
