Fiat Brazil’s Siena Essence sedan, a subcompact, has been rebadged as a Dodge Vision for sale in Mexico starting in this first quarter of 2015.

Citing “reliable insider Mr Source”, FCA enthusiast website Allpar.com said the Vision has a Fiat sourced E-Torq DOHC 1.6-litre four cylinder engine, descended from the Brazilian-made Neon two-litre unit, that produces 117 hp, albeit now with an aluminum block and other upgrades, hooked to automated manual Dualogic transmission with both auto and manual modes.

The cars will be supplied under the free trade agreement between Brazil and Mexico which has, over the years, also seen other rebadges such as Renaults masquerading as Nissans.

The Vision will have standard ABS, front airbags, cruise control, air conditioning and parking assist, according to Allpar.com, which reckons the new car is a replacement for the previous Dodge badged Hyundais that were sold up until mid-2014 in Mexico.

Until now FCA has not sold an ‘in house’ subcompact in Mexico, the report noted.
