BorgWarner says it plans to invest US$9.4m in its plant in Dixon, Illinois, during the next three years, creating 40 new jobs.

The expanded production capacity will allow BorgWarner to supply several customers with technologies including exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers, tubes and thermostats.

BorgWarner expects to create the new jobs in areas such as manufacturing and product engineering, supplier quality, supply chain, and technical and quality support.

“We are pleased to support the local economy with expanded operations in Dixon
and appreciate the encouragement we have received from both the city of Dixon and the
State of Illinois,” said BorgWarner Emissions Systems, plant manager, Dixon, Paddy Lange.

“Dixon’s infrastructure gives us the ability to meet growing customer demand in
North America, which is likely to increase within the next few years.”
