BorgWarner says it has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Gustav Wahler and its general partner, a producer of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves, EGR tubes and thermostats, although terms were not disclosed.

With locations in Germany, Brazil, the US, China and Slovakia, Wahler employs around 1,250 people and supplies customers such as Daimler, Volkswagen, BMW, GM and John Deere.

Wahler’s annual sales for 2013 are expected to be around US$350m and the deal is believed to close in the first quarter of 2014 subject to standard regulatory approvals.
