Climate-controlled seat specialist Amerigon Incorporated is supplying 2007 model year Range Rovers.
The top line model from Ford-owned Land Rover is the first European made vehicle to offer Amerigon’s Climate Controlled Seat (as an option). The seats are cooled or heated using individual controls for each occupant.
“This represents an important step in our initiative to expand the market for CCS to European automotive manufacturers,” said Amerigon president and chief executive officer Daniel Coker. “The fact [Land Rover] included CCS in their new design is a testament to the system’s value and appeal to [their] engineers and to consumers. There is nothing else like CCS on the market anywhere in the world.”
The CCS system, built around a solid-state thermoelectric device, operates independently from the vehicle’s heater and air conditioner.
