JLR aftermarket needs see Unipart selected for new logistics centre.

Unipart has secured a five-year contract to run the new Jaguar Land Rover Global Parts Logistics Centre at Appleby Magna in the UK, which will open in 2022.

Unipart has been selected by JLR to provide aftermarket parts logistics for both the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

The operation will be housed at JLR’s new 2.94m square foot campus, one of the largest UK warehouse developments for a single customer.

Unipart Logistics will operate a UK and global aftermarket Distribution Centre, Parts Packing and Branded Goods operations, as well as a Customer Support function.

Unipart says it was selected on the strength of its expertise in supply chain transformation, customer service and commitment to digital innovation and sustainability.

The company currently operates the Jaguar UK Aftermarket logistics and packer operation, JLR branded goods and in-production logistics at the manufacturer’s new Battery Assembly Centre.

“Jaguar Land Rover is a global player with world-class products,” said Unipart Group chairman and CEO, John Neill.

“We are proud of our strong heritage with this icon of the automotive industry, having worked with them in partnership for nearly 50 years.

“With this new contract, we will support the evolution of Jaguar Land Rover aftermarket logistics with a proposition that reflects our joint commitment to digital innovation, environmental sustainability and of course, customer service.

“As an independent British company that takes the long-term view, Unipart is committed to this partnership and we look forward to creating this future together.”
